when can the festival officially begin
on the last night of Ramadan everyone goes outside to see the new moon appear. the new moon marks the beginning of a new month and so the festival can begin.
what happens the next morning
muslim families attend the mosque for prayers wearing their best clothes. specail prayers are said from dawn until noon in thanksgiving to allah.
what happens after the mosque
families return home for a big breakfast and spend the rest of the day visiting friends and relatives. they also have a specail meal in the day time.
