poor growth and yellow leaves
2
Q
what is a symptom of phosphorus deficiency
A
poor root growth and discoloured leaves
3
Q
what is a sign of potassium deficiency
A
poor fruit growth and discoloured leaves
4
Q
what raw materials are needed
A
sulfur, phosphate rock , natural gas , air , water and potassium chloride
5
Q
how are fertilisers made in a lab potassium sulfate (4)
A
- put dilute potassium hydroxide solution into a conical flask with phenolphthalein which acts as an indicator
- add dilute sulfuric acid from a beretta or dropping pipettes
- add activated charcoal which attracts the phenolphthalein which can then be filtered out with the activated charcoal with the phenolphthalein attached to it
- warm the filtrate to evaporate the water leaving potassium sulfate behind
6
Q
how is hydrogen manufactured using raw materials
A
by reacting natural gas with steam (water vapour)
