Renal tumour presentation
A
painless hematuria - malignancy until proven otherwise
RCC triad: gross hematuria, flank pain, palpable abdominal mass
Paraneoplastic: anemia, hepatic dysfunction, weight loss, malaise, hypoalbuminemia, hypercalcemia, anorexia
Stauffer’s syndrome: patients without hepatic metastases have abnormal liver enzymes

Bladder cancer presentation
A
hematuria, gross and painless voiding symptoms pelvic pain outflow obstruction intermittent stream incomplete voiding - advanced disease

Tx for localized RCC
A
most common form of primary renal tumour surgery only curative modality highly resistant to chemo & radiation immunotherapy - mTOR, VEGF must rule out metastasis - can treat wiht radiation; never use conventional chemo Partial nephrectemy up to <7cm Radical for anything too large, centre of kidney systemic therapy as adjunct
