terroristic control of wives by their husbands that involves the use of violence, economic subordination, threats and isolation.

Girls - limits them to the home/ caring roles e.g. nursing/ teaching meaning lower paid roles

Position of women structurally different to men:
Women are socialised differently given lower status positions, boys are given more freedom and spend more time out of the house whereas girls are stay at home, more protected
Culture of femininity = being girls to interact with other girls to do feminine activities. Societies are different, females spend time, money in attracting a male
Bedroom culture = female ‘comfort’ area being the Bedroom for girls to be able to be themselves, adopt a culture of femininity.
