what do radical feminists believe?
the education system reinforces patriarchal ideology that legitimises the oppression and marginalisation of females so that by the time they enter wider society they see their oppression as normal and natural (false consciousness)
what do black and difference feminists believe?
you cannot generalise all female experiences of oppression; teachers may be under the assumption that muslim girls have different family and career aspirations than their peers
what liberal feminist argued that girls have become less subordinated to the patriarchal ideologies of the education system?
SHARPE - from the 1970’s-1997 girls priorities have changed from being the passive, subordinated female who aspire to be married and take care of their family to the independent female who is career driven and value their own personal achievements (1970 - equal pay act, 1976 - sex discrimination act)
