pediculosis pubis (crab lice)
s: severe perineal itching
o: excoriations & erythematous area, dark spots, nits (eggs), lice adherent near roots
usually localized in pubic hair (sometimes in eyebrows or eyelashes)
transmission= sexual content or contaminated bedding/clothing
herpes simplex virus (type 2)
s: episodes of local pain, dysuria, fever,__
o:
syphilitic chancre (STI)
o: starts as small, solitary silvery papule -> erodes -> red, round, or oval superficial ulcer + yellowish serous discharge
palpation:
-non-tender, indurated base= can lift like a button btw thumb + finger
-non-tender inguinal lymphadenopathy= may go unnoticed, resolves spontaneously, secondary syphilis follows (fever, lymphadenopathy, mucocutaneous red rash, sore throat)
