Communication of the fee
All rate or fee arragnements must be communicated to the client before or within a reasonable time after the relationship commences.
Writing requirements for fees
Generally, only a contigent-fee agreement must be in writing.
CA expception: requires writing when reasonably foreseeable that total expenses to a client will exceed $1000. A copy of the written K, signed by both parties, must be given to client.
