Fees for Oaths of Office; claims against counties
No officer of a county or judicial district shall charge or receive any fee or compensation for administering or certifying the oath of office or for filing or swearing to any claim or demand against any county in the State.
What happens if an officer fails to perform services after payment?
For every failure or refusal, the officer is liable upon his/her official bond.
Computation of time in which an act has to be done
The time in which any act provided by law is to be done computed by excluding the first day, and including the last, unless the last day is a holiday, and then it is also excluded.
When is a notary acknowledgement deemed complete without a notary’s official seal?
When the name of the notary, the county of the notary’s principal place of business, and the notary’s commission expiration date are typed or printed below or immediately adjacent to the notary’s signature in the acknowledgement.
Penalty for Failing to Obtain Satisfactory Evidence
Shall be subject to a civil penalty not exceeding ten thousand dollars $10,000. An action to impose this civil penalty may be brought on by the Secretary of State in an administrative proceeding or public prosecutor.
