feedwater

1
Q

STATE the functions of the Main Feedwater System.

A

Maintains the proper water inventory automatically during at-power operations.
• Provide final preheat to the feedwater.
• Ensure proper steam generator water inventory during plant startup and shutdown operations.

Q

EXPLAIN the NORMAL mechanical and electrical lineup required for the startup feed pump to be aligned for AUTO start

A
  • Prelube pump MCB C/S in AUTO
  • During Mode 1 operations it’s racked onto E5 with MCB switch is in PTL (DG loading)
  • During planned Startup/Shutdown’s it’s racked onto Bus 4 with MCB switch is placed in Auto on Recirculation.
  • CST upper tap (CO-V-141)-OPEN
  • FW PCV 4326, startup feed pump recirc control valve controller in AUTO-set for 1400 psig.
