Q

Why do you need to consider chewing and tongue movements when designing dentures?

A

Allows you to determine whether cusp or cuspless teeth are required.
Tongue movement determines where the teeth should be placed on the ridge during placement- lower arch the teeth should be directly over the ridge. Upper ridge the teeth should be placed buccally to the ridge.
