Feedback Identification: iPhone 13 Speakers Flashcards
COMPLETE Standard mix outputs in live sound applications have 31 bands of EQ applied before signal arrives to the system's speakers. These EQs can be used to notch out feedback. Listen to sine waves at these frequencies and identify them by ear to become a feedback sniper: 20Hz, 25Hz, 31.5Hz, 40Hz, 50Hz, 63Hz, 80Hz, 100Hz, 125Hz 160Hz, 200Hz, 250Hz, 315Hz, 400Hz, 500Hz, 630Hz, 800Hz, 1kHz, 1.25kHz, 1.6kHz, 2kHz, 2.5kHz, 3.15kHz, 4kHz, 5kHz, 6.3kHz, 8kHz, 10kHz, 12.5kHz, 16kHz, 20kHz
Name the frequency!
(if you can hear it)
25Hz
Note: Don’t feel bad if you can’t hear this one, especially if you’re listening over a mediocre-to-bad monitoring output like a phone or laptop speaker. Or most earbuds. Or… most things. Most people can’t hear it anyway. Honestly to hear it at all, you’ll probably need a subwoofer.

Name the frequency!
(if you can hear it)
40Hz
Note: Don’t feel bad if you can barely hear this one, especially if you’re listening over a mediocre-to-bad monitoring output like a phone or laptop speaker. Or shitty earbuds. This is in the range that often requires a subwoofer or another special low-end driver to be heard.
