What is a federation
A Political System of Government which unites independent colonies to form one government but the states still keep some form of independence

Feeling of unity/identity of a group who have pride in their country and want the same thing

Many could not relate fully to being completely British anymore
They believed they had characteristics that made them different from their British forebearers
