pres appoints ambassadors, fed judges and officers
Senate approves
Congress may vest appointment of inferior oficers in Pres the heads of department or lower federal courts
Congress may not give itself or its officer appointment power
removal power
unles removal is limited by statute, the pres may fire any executive branch officer
congress to limit removal - must be an officer wher eindependence from pres is desireable
congress cannot probhiit removal it can only limit to good cause
impeachment and removal
Pres, VP, federal judges and officers of US can be impeached and removed from teh officer for treason, bribery or high crimes and misdemeanors
iimpeachment doesn’t remove from office (need senate to convict)
impeachment by House requires majority vote; conviction in the Senate requires a 2/3 vote
pres immunity for civil suits for $ but not for actions that occurred prior to office
pres has privileges for presidential papers and convsation
pres has power to pardeon accused or convicted of Fed crimes.
