Q

what is an example and why do we have self report as a measurement?

A

Self report’s are things like questionnaires.

They operationalize conceptual ideas. However people may not be completely honest

Q

what is an example and why do we have observational and behavioural measures?

A

examples are things like tracking eye movements or how many times people smile

to opperationalize the variable by observing behaviours.

Q

what are ordinal variables?

A

variables that have an order, no equal distance or any distance between them, and have no true zero value
ex. birth order

Q

what is test-retest reliability?

A

Q

what is interrater reliability?

A

consistent rating between multiple rater/coders/observers

ex. essay marking with 2 TA’s

Q

what is internal reliability

A

consistency in a pattern of answers, no matter how a question.

ex. 2 different tests for depression
