What is the difference between future proche and future simple?
Future simple = I will do… / Future proche = I’m going to… (more confident/urgent)
Je voyagerai a Paris
I’m going to travel to Paris
How to create future simple
Infinitive + ai, as, a, ons, ez, ont
Irregular future simple verbs: etre, avoir, voir, pouvoir, il y a, faire, aller, envoyer, savoir, il faut, devoir, venir, recevoir, courir, il pleut
Je serai, j’aurai, verrai, pourrai, il y aura, ferai, j’irai, j’enverrai, je saurai, il faudra, devrai, viendrai, recevrai, courrai, il pleuvra
To talk in future simple (not irregular)
parlerai, parleras, parlera, parlerons, parlerez, parleront
What is the difference between Il faut and devoir
Il faut is a general obligation and more insistent like “One must xyz”. It does not have a subject. Devoir has a subject and is more like “I should”
What verb tense does “il faut que” use?
Subjunctive, but I’ve not learned this as of 21 Feb 2025
