A clear setting or context is established.
The organisation of the plot is logical.
Clearly defined characters are presented who show motivation.

Dialogue adds to the sense of reality and gives insight into character and motive.
Plot or dramatic action- a problem is posed which requires some kind of action.
Descriptive language or details create images in the reader’s mind and add to credibility.
Explain what a narrative feature is clear from the outside?
A clear narrative ‘voice’ is apparent from the outset. (whether first or third person narrative)
What does a first person narrative create?
First person narrators create a personal, confessional tone to engage the reader. However, this can limit the point of view sometimes.
What does a third person narrative create?
Omniscient(third-person narrators) allow for a broader insight into the minds of several characters, but are not as personally appealing or engaging.
List another 4 features of narration
The problem creates conflict.
Suspense is built up until the action reaches a climax.
A resolution then occurs, which concludes the plot- either happily or unhappily.
A theme or idea is expressed in the course of the narrative.
