Possession Sound
joins Puget Sound at the S point of Whidbey Island and runs N for 10 miles to its junction with Saratoga Passage and Port Susan.
Entrance is 3.5 miles by 2 miles.
E part is filled with flats, many uncover and rise abruptly from deep water.
flats are N of Everett at the mouths of Steamboat Slough and Ebey Slough.
Sandy Point
the south point at the entrance to Saratoga Passage, is a low spit rising abruptly to 100 feet, with bluffs on each side; it is marked by a light.
Camano Head
NNE of Sandy Point, is the southeast point of Camano Island. A shoal, with a rock bare at low tide, extends nearly 0.2 mile southeast from the point and is marked by a light.
Tulalip Bay

Port Susan
Port Susan on the east side of Camano Island, extends about 11 miles in a northwest direction, Deep water is throughout until nearing the head.
Mission Beach
South Border of Tualip Bay, has several private boathouses and float landings. NW Radio tower
Gedney Island,
locally known as Hat Island is prominent, high and wooded.
From its southeast point, a shoal extends southeast, the 5-fathom curve being at a distance of 0.8 mile. A light is on the north side of the shoal area.
The flats north of Everett at the mouths of Steamboat Slough and Ebey Slough
used for log storage.
Navigation across the shallow flats should not be attempted without local knowledge. Local small craft navigate Ebey Slough to Marysville.
Smith Island
Steamboat Slough to the N and Snohomish River to the S.
Snohomish River
flows through the dredged channel empties into Port Gardner. Several pulp, plywood and lumber mills are along the river.
Jetty Island,
low-lying, sandy, borders the W edge of the Snohomish River channel. Channel is marked with lights and ranges.

Port Gardner
SE of S terminus of Snohomish River—encompasses commercial wharfing area operated by the Port of Everett.
NAVSTA Everett Piers,
2 Piers each about 540 yards long, extending SW on S side of Snohomish River Channel, Naval Station Everett is on the west and north end of the harbor.
A naval restricted area, marked by a floating barrier and private lights, surrounds the docking facilities.
