What is the difference between saturated and unsaturated foods
Saturated foods contain cholesterol (fat found in the blood) and unsaturated foods contain only plant and oily fish sources
What is an omega - 3FA
It is a type of unsaturated fat found in oily fish, nuts and seeds.
What is the function of omega 3FA
It helps brain development and to lower cholesterol levels in the blood.
What can to much fat cause for a persons health
It can cause health problems like: obesity (weight gain) or CHD ( a heart disease)
Guidelines to reduce fat in diets
(1). Avoid high fat foods like takeaways. (2). Use low fat cooking methods. (3). Choose low fat unprocessed meats. (4) choose law fat products. (5) read food labels.
What is CHD
CHD is a coronary heart disease which occurs when there is too much cholesterol in the blood, this causes it to stick to artery walls. This causes pressure on the blood to pass causing high blood pressure and can lead to heart attacks.
What are the functions of fat
Produce heat and energy
Adipose tissue: keeps the body warm (layer of fat stored under the skin)
Protect vital organs: kidneys, liver.
