Secondary Colors
colors created by mixing two primary colors in equal parts

red, yellow, and blue; the three colors that create all other colors

a diagram used to show the relationships between colors by organizing them into a wheel
Cool Colors
calming colors that include green, blue, and violet
Hue
the traditional name of a color; the property that distinguishes a color from other colors
Tertiary Colors
colors created by an equal mix of primary and secondary color; the tertiary colors are placed on the color wheel between the primary and secondary colors
Intensity
the saturation or strength of color; the brighter the color, the purer or more intense
Palette
a range or set of colors
Value
the lightness or darkness of a color
Warm Colors
energetic colors that include red, orange, and yellow
Base Fabric
the main fabric in the development of a collection
Line
the process of choosing the fabrics that will be used in creating a particular set of garments
Hand
the way a fabric feels against your skin
Line
a series of points that connect to create a visually appealing path in the design of a garment
Performance
fiber content, weave, and finish of a fabric that determines how the fabric cleans and wears
Proportion
describes how separate parts of a garment relate to each other and to the whole in size
Scale
the proportional size relationships between objects and figures in garment design development
Shape
the outline of a garment, also known as silhouette
