Fascia Flashcards
Lines thorax between internal intercostals and pleura
Endothoracic fascia
Most superficial of superficial abdominal fascia
Superficial fatty layer (Camper’s)
Deepest layer of superficial abdominal fascia and is continuous with superficial fascia of scrotum
Deep membranous layer (Scarpa’s)
Between transversus abdominis and extraperiotneal fat, continuos with pelvis fascia
Transversalis fascia
Separates perirenal/paprenal fat surrounding kidneys
Renal fascia
Continuous with Scarpa’s fascia of of anterior abdominal wall, and superficial perineal fascia (Colle’s)
Superficial fascia of penis/scrotum
Surrounds corpus spongiosum and corpora cavernosum
Deep penile fascia (Buck’s)
Continuous with aponeurosis of external oblique, external most layer of spermatic chord
External spermatic fascia
Continuous with internal oblique, surrounds cremaster muscle
Cresmasteric fascia
Continuous with transversalis fascia, inner most layer of spermatic chord
Internal spermatic fascia
Defines superficial boundary of superficial perineal space, continuous with superficial fascia of penis/scrotum
Superficial perineal fascia (Colle’s)
Defines deep boundary of superficial perineal space and superficial boundary of deep perineal space
Perineal membrane
Covers pelvic surface of obturator internus
Obturator fascia
Covers inferior surface of levator ani and coccygeus msucles
Inferior fascia of the pelvic diaphragm (anal fascia)
Covers superior surface of levator ani and coccygeus muscles
Superior fascia of the pelvis diaphragm
