LEO & Armed PAX General Procedure
Must check in with CSA at podium prior to boarding & must present official credentials
CSA presents FF/A with seat assignments of all armed individuals on flight
FF/A notifies FD & all F/A of locations; then gives Captain LEO form & seat #
FF/A informs each armed PAX of each others seat assignments except for FAMs
F/As are aware of FAMs & FAMs are informed of all armed PAX & seat #
Armed PAX may not drink alcohol and may only holster weapon when in uniform
FFDO
Federal FD Officer
On Duty Procedure:
All crew must be noticed
FF/A responsible for notifying all FAMs & LEOs
Guns must be holstered only when in FD & door is closed and locked
When FFDO leaved FD gun must be placed in locked box and remain in FD
FFDO is authorized to used deadly force to protect FD
Off Duty Procedures:
All crew is notified
Gun is in locked box carried in a non-descript bag that is stowed only under the seat in front of FFDO
FFDO may not consume alcohol
May sleep in LCR only with permission of PIC and gun must remain in cockpit
Prisoners Under Guard
SAIL BASS
Seated in the rear most seat & not in or across from an exit
Guard occupies asile seat
Proper ID, authorization, and paperwork must be presented
Leg shackles must be removed prior to boarding and reapplied after deplaning
Prisoner boards 1st and deplanes last
Guard must be armed and follow armed PAX procedure
F/A may only server prisoner with guards permission, prisoner is not allowed metal utensils and neither are allowed alcohol
Guard cannot sleep
Prisoner To Guard Ratio
Minimum risk:
B717:
1 guard - 1 prisoner
B767 & A330:
Flights less than 4 hours 1g - 1p
Flights greater than 4 hours 2g - 1p
Number of minimum risk prisoners is at station managers desertion
Maximum risk:
All A/C 2g - 1 p
1 maximum risk prisoner per flight
Standard Crew
B717:
FAA & HAL minimum: 3
Continuing: 2
B767 & A330:
FAA minimum: 6
HAL Standard: 8
Continuing: All assigned
F/As & Alcohol
F/As may not:
Consume alcohol within 8 an hour period prior to duty or stand by period
Have an alcohol concentration of .02 or higher
Consume, purchase, or be in a bar while in uniform
F/A Deadheading & Alcohol
F/As may consume alcohol if:
They are deadheading to a legal rest
Not in uniform & not in a J/S
A/C is in the air
F/A & Drugs
F/As may not use any medications which will affect their faculties while on duty.
Interference With Crewmembers
No person may assault, threaten, intimidate or interfere with a crewmember or their duties.
F/A reports incident to FF/A & Captain.
PICs decision to remove a PAX for safety reasons is final.
Station manager is responsible for physically removing PAX.
