FAMILY
A group of 2 or more persons associated by birth, cohabitation, marriage or adoption

The practise of only being married to one person at a time

The illegal practice in a monogamous society of having more than 1 spouse

A pattern of divorce and monogamous remarriage

A marriage in which the parents have a say in the choice of a bride or groom for their son or daughter

The accepted practice in some societies of having more than 1 spouse

The accepted practice in some societies of a man having more than 1 wife

The accepted practice in some societies of a wife having more than 1 husband
FEMALE INFANTICIDE
The intentional killing of baby girls due to the preference for male babies
DECREE ABSOLUTE
The legal ending of the marriage. Once this has been granted, your marriage has been dissolved and you are legally single

The formal request to start divorce proceedings

Branding something with negative feelings of shame and disgrace

The group of people at the very bottom of the social structure who, either by their economic situation or culture, are cut off from the rest of society
