A
Because not every culture/society follows the nuclear family approach

What functions does the family serve?

- Sexual (get married n fuck)
- Reproduction
- Socialization and education
- Economic (parents pay for the foods and clothes of their kids, families take care of each other economically)
- Emotional security
- Care of the sick and elderly
- Companionship (Parents/siblings are your first best friends, they played with you and gave you companionship)
- Protection

Why is the family on “Modern Family” traditional yet nontraditional at the same time?
A
Each family has a traditional “breadwinner” and “homemaker”, as well as children. However, in one family, both parents are men, and in another, there is a significant age difference between the parents
