What are the fallacies of relevance?
Red herring, ad hominem, and fault analogy
What are the fallacies of accuracy?
Straw man and either/or (false dilemma)
What are the fallacies of insufficiency?
Hasty generalization and circular reasoning
Red herring
Speaker skips to a new and relevant topic to avoid discussion.
Ad hominem
Tactic of switching the argument from the issue at hand to the character of the other speaker.
Faulty analogy
When two things are not comparable.
Straw man
Speaker chooses a poor or oversimplified example in order to ridicule and refute an opponent’s viewpoint.
Either/or ( false dilemma )
Speaker presents two extreme options as the only possible choices.
Hasty generalization
Not enough evidence to support a particular conclusion.
Circular reasoning
Repeating the claim as a way to provide evidence resulting in no evidence at all.
