- no party won majority so there was a coalition
- Nazis were second largest party - 107 seats
- Heinrich BrΓΌning of the centre party became chancellor, who was unpopular for raising taxes

- Nazis put up millions of posters and held rallies
- The SA beat up communists and disrupted their meetings
- Many Germans began to detect that the Weimar government was failing

A
- Bruning resigned so Hindenburg appointed Von Papen who held an election.
Nazis were now the largest party in Germany

- Hitler demanded to be chancellor because of his success
- Hindenburg refused because he thought the Nazis were disruptive and gave the job to Von Papen again
- November 1932 election, Nazis were still the biggest and Von Papen resigned
