Failure Flashcards
How do we handle failure? (6 ways)
- Laugh at it
- Admit it and take full responsibility
- Call on God for help
- Make a swift recovery
- Learn from it
- Resolve not to repeat it
This might sound crazy but do not let your failures bog you down. Don’t do something stupid like going on a drinking binge, taking drugs, or even attempting suicide just to get rid of your frustration. Simply laugh at it. This doesn’t mean that you will ignore the failure. When you take things in stride, you strive to face the issue squarely and move on
Laugh at it
Don’t pass the blame for your failures on to someone else. If it’s your fault, it’s your fault, and you should do something about it
Admit it and take full responsibility
We’re human beings and because of your sin, we have become imperfect and are prone to fail. But God is willing to help us in our sorry state
Call on God for help
So you slipped. You make a big and terrible blunder. It’s alright to feel sorry, but not for long. Yes, you may be knocked down, but you’re not knocked out. Hurry! Get up. Wipe the dirt from your knees and elbows and get back into fighting form
Make a swift recovery
Lessons learned in the past can be applied to present challenges
Learn from it
After each failure, it is wise to ask the following questions:
- What went wrong?
- How can I correct it?
- What is God teaching me?
- What could I have done instead?
Learn lessons from your mistakes. Make sure that the lesson sticks and that you won’t waste time and energy again with the same error
Resolve not to repeat it
