A meeting between the client and design team to discuss the needs of the client and the product they are asking for. An agreement is reached for the design and creation process.

A document which may be formal or informal to be used by designers as a guide. Could be presented as a presentation or document
Informal
No official documentation is produced, brief lacks detail, could be an idea or concept. No set deadline.F
Formal
A clear and easy to understand written document which includes information about needs to be achieved and a timescale
Comission
A formal agreement for a piece of work between a larger company and a smaller media company they have chosen to carry out the work

Symbolic Codes
Codes which are based on societal, cultural and real life, they relate to meanings we give to the objects, locations and actions
Written Codes
The words and phrases which are used to create a certain meaning or feeling
Difference between qualitative and quantitative data/information
Quantitative: Data which involves the use of numbers and digures
Qualitative: Data which is not based on numbers, can involve the use of yes/no questions
