TRUTH

OPINION

Example:
The soldiers, who fought in the war are all bloodthirsty murderers
CORRESPONDENCE BIAS
tendency to look for, and readily except information to fit with once on beliefs, reviews, and to reject ideas or views that go against it
Example:
how can I accept his view that there is no God? I am a Christian
CONFIRMATION BIAS
focusing on a certain aspect of a problem while ignoring other aspects
Example:
preliminary evidence has still not pointed out the actual cost of the plane crash, but investigators are currently focusing on the possibility of pilot error
FRAMING
The tendency to see past events as predictable or to ascribe a pattern to historical events
Example:
A person stating, “I knew that relationship wasn’t going to work out after a couple break ups”
HINDSIGHT
A person or group is connected to, or has a vested interest in the issue being discussed
Example:
as the daughter of the accused, I believe I have the right to express my opinion on the issue of his alleged corrupt practices
CONFLICT OF INTEREST
analyzing an event or issue, based on one’s cultural standard
Example:
I disagree with this western practice of placing aged parents in retirement homes we Filipinos take care of our family members
CULTURAL BIAS
•this theory states that something is true if it corresponds to the reality or the actual state
• there is a direct relationship between an idea and reality to be able tale a statement as “Fact”
CORRESPONDENCE THEORY
•some thing is true, if it makes sense and placed in a certain situation or context
• There is a possibility that there will be varied truths from different perspectives
Example:
muslims have a belief that certain animals like pig aren’t clean. This fact, prevents them from eating pork and other types of food made from unclean animals.
COHERENCE THEORY
•knowledges is shared by social forces, an influence by culture and history
• What is true what a person considers true is shaped by the structures fit in the individual society and culture
• knowledge is gained as part of a social experience, and requires interaction and collaboration
CONSTRUCTIVIST THEORY
• knowledge is based on agreement, and that something is true leaf. Almost everyone agrees that it is true.
CONSENSUS THEORY
• viewing something is true if you can put it into practice or useful in real life
• continually tested to confirm validity
PRAGMATIC THEORY
The art of questioning methods of analyzing a topic by formulating, a series of questions, designed to analyze various aspects, and examine or clarify the persons view
SOCRATIC METHOD
refers to statements that convey certain assumptions in philosophical discussions this provides a foundation and direction in philosophical studies
