What is the mission of FACSFAC?
FACSFAC provides off shore air traffic control and surveillance as well as active management of assigned airspace, operating areas, ranges, and training resources to promote the combat readiness of US forces and support homeland defense
What does CDO stand for and what do they do?
Command duty officer, building security, personnel management, keeping the chain of command informed of all SAR, MEDIVACS, HUMEVAC and any other event that may arise
What does FWS stand for and what do they do?
Floor watch supervisor, monitors and maintains a coherency of watch evolutions and emergencies, main focus is air side
What does MRICO stand for and what do they do?
Maritime regional interface control officer, assist the FWS in the monitoring and maintenance of the all surface assists to support all SAR, MEDIVACS, and HUMEVACS that occur. As well as maintains link architecture for the So Cal, Hi, and Washington OPAREAS
What is your job as a watch stander?
To assist the MRICO in maintaining situational awareness of all surface assists, monitor all communications on the floor, and assist in any other needs the MRICO may have that deals with the watch
Where are the SWAT areas located?
Off the north shore of San Clemente island
What does FLETA HOT stand for?
Fleet training area hot
What does QDA stand for?
Quick draw area
What does SHOBA stand for?
Shore bombardment area
How many papa areas do we have?
8
What does SCORE stand for?
Southern California offshore range
What is the purpose of SKEDS?
To schedule events for all FACSFAC SD controlled areas
