FAC 1
Force. Officers in API 1,2,5 or 7 not associated with formal flying training.
FAC 2
Instructors, supervisors and students (API 1,2,6, or 8 assigned to fly training aircraft assigned to Formal Training Units.
FAC 3
Operational Supervisor. Officers in API 6,7, or 8 not associated with formal flying training who actively fly.
FAC 4
Rated Supervisor. Officers in API 3 or 4 assigned and performing aircrew duties in support of certain SECAF approved flying missions.
FAC 5
Officers not assigned to a rated position who perform aircrew duties in support of certain SECAF approved flying missions.
FAC 6
Excepted Assignment. Officers not eligible for FAC 1 through 5 whose current assignments require active temporary (180 days or less) flying. Approved by USAF/XOO.
FAC 7
Inactive. Officers in inactive status.
FAC 8
Inactive. Officers performing in-flight non-rated duties.
FAC 9
Other. Reserved for use when directed by HQ USAF.
FAC A
Force. CEAs in API A, not associated with formal flying training.
FAC B
Instructors, supervisors, and students (API A & B) assigned to formal training units.
FAC C
Operational Supervisor. CEAs in API B or D not associated with formal flying training who actively fly.
FAC D
CEAs assigned to AETC non flying formal school position. (API C)
FAC E
Excepted Assignments. CEAs not eligible for FAC A, B, C, or D, whose current assignment require active temporary (180 days or less) flying. Approved by USAF/XOO.
FAC F
CEAs assigned to OT&E, IOT&E, FMS, AMOG & TALCE. (API F)
