Location
Reach your customers in the areas where they live or where they do business with you. Target adverts by country, county/region, postcode or even the area around your business.
Demographics
The customers your business serves are on Facebook. Choose the audiences that should see your adverts by age, gender, interests and even the languages they speak.
Interests
When people are interested in your business, they’re more likely to take action on your advert. Choose from hundreds of categories such as music, films, sport, games, shopping and so much more to help you find just the right people.
Behaviours
You know your customers best, and you can find them based on the things they do – such as shopping behaviour, the type of phone they use or if they’re looking to buy a car or house.
Connections
Reach the people who like your Page or your app – and reach their friends, too. It’s an easy way to find even more people who may be interested in your business.
Creating a Custom Audience Step 1, and Step 2.
It’s easy to create a Custom Audience so you can run adverts for the people you already know. Step 1. Create a list of who you want to reach
When you have the phone numbers or email addresses of customers who you want to reach on Facebook, you can create a list with your PC or Mac. Step 2. Upload your list
Click the arrow in the top-right corner and choose Manage Adverts. Select Audiences in the left-hand column. Choose the type of information you’re uploading to Facebook. You can:
Upload a .csv or .txt file of your contacts
Copy and paste your customer list of emails, phone numbers and more
Import your customer list from MailChimp. Give your audience list a name and description, and choose what type of info it is.
Click the Create Audience button.

Create an advert
When you’ve uploaded your information, it will take up to 30 minutes for Facebook to create your Custom Audience. You’ll receive a notification when your Custom Audience is ready for advertising.
When you run an advert, just click the Audience field and choose the name of the Custom Audience you’ve created. .

You can edit your budget or stop them at any time. Auction: After choosing ad settings, by default FB will optimise your ad. They bid on our behalf, though you can set your own bids. Can pause or change at any time such as add to budget to improved effectiveness.
Reaching Customers You Know
With Custom Audiences, you can reach customers that you already know with adverts on Facebook.
Just upload a list of contact info such as email addresses or phone numbers. You can also use info from your website or app. We’ll deliver your advert to those people if they’re on Facebook. And your contacts are always used in a secure, anonymous and privacy-safe way.
Tracking Actions on Your Website
With Conversion Tracking, you can find out when someone sees your Facebook advert and then goes to your website to make a purchase, register and more. Get people to take action on your website
When you run an advert to get people to your website, you can find out if it was successful in helping visitors to make a purchase or take another action. Just cut and paste some code into your web page
You can track actions with a Conversion Pixel – a snippet of code – that you install in the HTML of a page that you want visitors to go to.
When visitors arrive on that page, the Conversion Pixel tells Facebook about the action, and you receive reports on how many people took action on your website based on your Facebook advert. Measure your advert success
When your advert runs, you can view info on how many people took action – or converted – in Adverts Manager. You’ll see columns that tell you how many people converted and the cost of each conversion based on your chosen audience and budget.
