Yes. Denim is made from discarded fibres and cotton. cotton is a renewable source. it can be recycled fairly easy.

3 properties of Denim?
A
Durability - stands up to heavy wear and abuse. (washes)
Absorbent - denim is absorbent as it can hold in moisture and dye very well.
Comfortability - does not irritate skin, comfortable after several washes and over long periods of time.
