what is basic med
A
allows pilots to fly without FAA medical cert.

conditions to fly under basic med
A
- aircraft has to be certificated no more than 6 seats
- also no more than 6 people
max weight of 6000lbs or less - vfr and ifr up to 18000 ft , 250 knots ias or less
ias - indicated air speed - cant be for hire
- but can be used as flight instructor

to qualify for basic med
A
- us drivers license
- also have once held a medical cert valid after july 14th, 2006
- also need to complete free medical education course
