Emergency Equipment
Emergency Flashlight (LED) Description
Mounted in a bracket on the top, bottom, or side of all Flight attendant Jumpseats. Flashlight is water resistant and floats beam up. For emergency use only and should not be used as a work light.
Emergency Flashlight Preflight

Verify the flashlight is working by depressing the push to test button.
One green flash on the led indicates normal battery level.
One red flash indicates battery is low, replace soon.
The LED monitor will emit a Red Flash Every 10 seconds when the battery level has reached end of life.

Verify flashlight is in working order.
Red Light on side of flashlight will flash every 4-7 seconds indicating a good battery level.
Emergency Flashlight Operation
Pull Flashlight out of the bracket, breaking the tamper evident band. Activation is automatic when the flashlight is removed from the bracket. Flashlight has a duration of approximately 4 hours with continuous use.
Fire Extinguishers - Halon Preflight
Stowed in the proper location.

Ensure the pull pin is in place
verify working order by checking that the pressure gauge needle is in the green.
Fire Extinguisher - Halon
Operation
Remove from bracket, hold upright.
Pull: twist and remove the pull pen.
Aim Stand 6-10 away and aim at the base of the fire.
Squeeze Press lever down by squeezing the handle.
Sweep: Use side to side sweeping motion across the width of the fire. moving closer as the fire is extinguished.
Fire extinguisher has a duration of approximately 10 seconds from a distance of 10’
Caution do not use water on electrical or grease fires.

FAK required by Part 121 Appendix A to contain the following.
Adhesive Bandages 16 Adhesive Tape 2 Ammonia Inhalants 10 Antiseptic Swabs 20 Bandage Compress 8 Gauze Roller Bandages 4 Scissors 1 Triangular Bandage Splints 1 arm 1 leg Protective latex gloves 2

EEMK Enhanced Emergency Medical Kit
Description
Yellow Pouch with IV equipment. Blue pouch with airway equipment Orange/Red with medication One Sharps container Exterior Packet with a digital blood pressure cuff, stethoscope, and tuff ties

Placard is present
Securely bracketed
Check Lock is present (code 8675.
FA with primary responsbility. will unlock the EEMK
Tamper Evident seal is present and intact.
EEMK Operation
FA’s may open only with the direction of Medlink. FA’s may open the EEMK without MEDlink to get the sharps container, EpiPen, Cpr Mask, One way Valve.
When are FAs required to do a hands on preflight check of all the emergency equipment?
Prior to the first assigned flight.
