F15 engine run emer proc Flashcards
When the JFS is running and an emergency condition develops:
a) STARTER SWITCH - OFF
If JFS does not shut down with the STARTER switch or if the AMAD FIRE PUSH light comes on:
a) AMAD FIRE PUSH-LIFT GUARD AND PUSH
b) DISCHARGE SWITCH-DISCHARGE
If JFS does not shut down after actuating fire extinguisher:
a) USING SHORT BURSTS, DISCHARGE CO2, HALON, OR CB FIRE EXTINGUISHER INTO JFS INLET WHILE FACING AFT.
b) DO NOT START JFS.
- If the left or right engine is cranking and an emergency develops:
a) THROTTLE - OFF
b) ENG MASTER SWITCH - OFF
c) STARTER SWITCH – OFF
- For fire in engine compartment; noted by ground observer or steady red ENG light:
a) L/R ENG FIRE PUSH LIGHT-LIFT GUARD AND PUSH
b) DISCHARGE SWITCH-DISCHARGE
c) THROTTLE – OFF
d) L/R ENG MASTER SWITCH OFF
e) STARTER SWITCH OFF
If the left or right engine is running and the AMAD FIRE PUSH light and/or either L/R ENGINE FIRE PUSH comes on:
a) AMAD OR EITHER L/R ENG FIRE PUSH LIGHT – LIFT GUARD AND PUSH
b) DISCHARGE SWITCH - DISCHARGE
c) THROTTLE - OFF
d) MASTER SWITCH - OFF
e) STARTER SWITCH – OFF
If the left or right engine is running at MAX power and either L/R BURN THRU light comes on:
a) THROTTLE - MIL
b) IF L/R BURN THRU LIGHT DOES NOT GO OFF:
c) THROTTLE - OFF
d) L/R ENG MASTER SWITCH - OFF
e) MAKE SURE N1 AND N2 ROTORS TURN FREELY BEFORE TRYING TO RESTART ENGINES.
Hot Start (JFS engaged). If flames are seen coming from exhaust nozzle or FTIT is rapidly climbing through 750° C:
a) THROTTLE - OFF
b) L/R ENG FIRE PUSH LIGHT –LIFT GUARD AND PUSH
c) CONTINUE TO MOTOR ENGINE WITH JFS UNTIL FTIT IS 200 DEGREES CELSIUS OF JFS ENGAGEMENT TIME GETS TO 150 SECONDS.
d) IF NOT ABLE TO MOTOR ENGINE BE SURE N1 AND N2 ROTORS TURN FREELY BEFORE TRYING RESTART.
e) If JFS engagement time exceed
Hot Start (JFS disengaged). If N2 RPM reaches 50% to 60% then decreases while FTIT is stable or increasing:
a) THROTTLE - OFF
b) L/R ENG FIRE PUSH LIGHT –LIFT GUARD AND PUSH
c) L/R ENG MASTER SWITCH - OFF
d) IF STARTER READY LIGHT IS NOT ON, DO THE BELOW:
e) STARTER SWITCH - ON
f) WHEN N2 RPM IS 40% OR LESS, JFS HANDLE - PULL
g) IF STARTER READY LIGHT IS ON, CONTINUE.
h) ENG MASTER SWITCH - ON
i) WHEN N2 RPM IS 30% OR LESS, LIFT FINGER LIFT.
j) CONTINUE TO MOTOR ENGINE WITH JFS UNTIL FTIT IS 200 DEGREES OR JFS ENGAGEMENT TIME GETS TO 150 SECONDS.
k) IF NOT ABLE TO MOTOR ENGINE, BE SURE N1 AND N2 ROTORS TURN FREELY BEFORE TRYING RESTART.
l) If JFS engagement time exceeded 150 seconds, do secondary power system inspection procedure after JFS engagement time is exceeded.
For internal engine fire after shut down:
a) MAKE SURE THROTTLES ARE IN OFF POSITION
b) L/R ENG FIRE PUSH LIGHT – LIFT GUARD AND PUSH
c) L/R ENG MASTER SWITCH - OFF
d) STARTER SWITCH - ON
e) WHEN N2 RPM IS 40% OR LESS DO THE BELOW:
f) JFS HANDLE - PULL
g) ENG MASTER SWITCH - ON
h) WHEN N2 RPM IS 30% OR LESS, LIFT FINGER LIFT
i) DRY MOTOR ENGINE UNTIL FIRE IS OUT OR JFS ENGAGEMENT TIME GETS TO 150 SECONDS.
j) IF FIRE CANNOT BE BLOWN OUT, DISCHARGE FIRE EXTINGUISHER INTO EXHAUST AND/OR INLET TO EXTINGUISH FIRE.
k) If JFS engagement time exceeded 150 seconds, do secondary power system inspection procedure after JFS engagement time is exceeded.
For engine shutdown from operating above IDLE without cool down period:
a) STARTER SWITCH - ON
b) WHEN N2 RPM IS 40% OR LESS, DO THE BELOW:
c) JFS HANDLE - PULL
d) L/R ENG MASTER SWITCH - ON
e) WHEN N2 RPM IS 30% OR LESS, LIFT FINGER LIFT
f) DRY MOTOR ENGINE UNTIL FTIT IS LESS THAN 200 DEGREES CELSIUS OR JFS ENGAGEMENT TIME GETS TO 150 SECONDS.
g) IF NOT ABLE TO MOTOR ENGINE, BE SURE N1 AND N2 ROTORS TURN FREELY BEFORE TRYING RESTART.
h) If JFS engagement time exceeded 150 seconds, do secondary power system inspection procedure after JFS engagement time is exceeded.
For engine shutdown from operating above IDLE without cool down period:
a) STARTER SWITCH - ON
b) WHEN N2 RPM IS 40% OR LESS, DO THE BELOW:
c) JFS HANDLE - PULL
d) L/R ENG MASTER SWITCH - ON
e) WHEN N2 RPM IS 30% OR LESS, LIFT FINGER LIFT
f) DRY MOTOR ENGINE UNTIL FTIT IS LESS THAN 200 DEGREES CELSIUS OR JFS ENGAGEMENT TIME GETS TO 150 SECONDS.
g) IF NOT ABLE TO MOTOR ENGINE, BE SURE N1 AND N2 ROTORS TURN FREELY BEFORE TRYING RESTART.
h) If JFS engagement time exceeded 150 seconds, do secondary power system inspection procedure after JFS engagement time is exceeded.
- (STEP 103) For no engine shut down with throttle or auto acceleration:
a) THROTTLE - OFF
b) L/R ENG FIRE PUSH LIGHT – LIFT GUARD AND PUSH
c) L/R ENG MASTER SWITCH - OFF
d) IF FTIT IS ABOVE 500 DEGREES CELSIUS DO THE BELOW:
e) IF STARTER - READY LIGHT IS NOT ON, DO THE BELOW:
f) STARTER SWITCH - ON
g) WHEN N2 RPM IS 40% OR LESS, JFS HANDLE - PULL
h) IF STARTER - READY LIGHT IS ON, CONTINUE.
i) L/R ENG MASTER SWITCH - ON
j) WHEN N2 RPM IS 30% OR LESS, LIFT FINGER LIFT
k) MOTOR ENG WITH JFS UNTIL FTIT IS 200 DEGREES CELSIUS OR JFS ENGAGEMENT TIME GETS TO 150 SECONDS.
l) IF NOT ABLE TO MOTOR ENGINE, BE SURE N1 AND N2 ROTORS TURN FREELY BEFORE TRYING RESTART.
m) If FTIT exceeded 800 degrees C, T/S
n) If JFS engagement time exceeded 150 seconds, do secondary power system inspection procedure after JFS engagement time is exceeded.
If engine flames out:
a) THROTTLES – OFF
b) IF FTIT REMAINS ABOVE 500 DEGREES CELSIUS:
c) MOTOR ENGINE WITH JFS UNTIL FTIT IS 200 DEGREES OR JFS ENGAGEMENT TIME GETS TO 150 SECONDS.
d) IF NOT ABLE TO MOTOR ENGINE, BE SURE N1 AND N2 ROTORS TURN FREELY BEFORE TRYING RESTART.
Engine stall or stagnation recovery procedures:
a) IF ENGINE STALLS: SNAP THROTTLE TO IDLE.
b) IF ENGINE STALL CLEARS, do Event Code 1020
CAUTION
If stall does not clear, it is a non recoverable stall (stagnation). Throttle must be positioned to OFF immediately.
c) IF ENGINE STAGNATES: THROTTLE - OFF
d) IF FTIT REMAINS ABOVE 500 DEGREES MOTOR ENGINE WITH JFS UNTIL FTIT IS BELOW 200 DEGREES OR JFS ENGAGEMENT TIME GETS TO 150 SECONDS.
e) IF NOT ABLE TO MOTOR ENGINE, BE SURE N1 AND N2 ROTORS TURN FREELY BEFORE TRYING RESTART.
f) IF ENGINE STALLS/STAGNATES, DO Event Code 1000.
