parasitism

A
  • type of feeding relationship where one organism (parasite) benefits by feeding off a host organism, causing harm to the host but not instantly killing it.
  • e.g. lice (live on the outside of hosts), tapeworms (live inside hosts, in small intestines) and elephantiasis (roundworms).

  • relationship between individuals of different species where all species benefit.
  • e.g. examples include coral polyp/algae and clownfish/sea anemone.
