EZYVet Tempates Flashcards
DCM:
dilated cardiomyopathy (usually large breed canines or from grain free diet)
Fel LVOTO/RVOTO:
left or right ventricular outflow tract obstruction (felines, “flow” or benign murmur)
Flow murmur:
benign outflow murmur (canines, athletic murmur)
HCM: hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (usually felines)
hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (usually felines)
HOCM:
hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy (usually felines)
Hypertension:
elevated blood pressure
MR:
mitral regurgitation (usually canine, if DVD or degenerative valve disease is mentioned, it’s usually one of these templates)
RCM:
restrictive cardiomyopathy (felines, form of heart muscle disease)
ARVC:
arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy (usually Boxers or Bulldogs)
Complete Heart Block:
condition requiring a pacemaker
DCRV with VSD:
double chamber right ventricle with ventricular septal defect
Endocarditis:
infection of the cardiac valves
HWD:
heartworm disease
Mitral Stenosis:
narrowing across mitral valve
MV Dysplasia:
the mitral valve is incorrectly formed
PDA:
patent ductus arteriosus (usually very young canines, congenital defect usually requiring surgery)
Pericardial Effusion:
- HBT
- RAu Mass
- Idiopathic
Pericardial Effusion: HBT (heart based tumor), RAu Mass (right auricular mass), idiopathic (no known cause)
PPDH:
peritoneal-pericardial diaphragmatic hernia (congenital defect where peritoneum and pericardium are joined together through a hole in the diaphragm)
Pre-Adriamycin:
oncology consults (to make sure heart healthy enough for adriamycin treatment)
PS:
pulmonary stenosis (narrowing of pulmonic artery)
Pulmonary Hypertension:
elevated pressures in the lungs sometimes causing respiratory issues
SAS:
subaortic stenosis (narrowing of aorta before leaving heart through aortic valve)
TVD:
tricuspid valve dysplasia (the tricuspid valve is incorrectly formed)
Ventricular Arrhythmia
