our personality has a biological basis which is related to the type of nervous system we inherit, how easily it resounds to arousal
extravert to introvert- extraverts are outgoing and attention seeking due to their under aroused nervous system
neurotic to stable- neurotics very easily triggered nervous system by threats whereas stables are the opposite
psychoticism high to low-high meaning they do not feel sympathy/ guilt

too simplistic as it would suggest that it depends on stable personality type however this was false,
moffitt-came up with an alternative explanation as he saw proposed two alterntaive types
