What is the positions test?
Moves eyes by following a finger or pen, one eye at a time at 30cm away
What is Snellen eye chart?
Chart where letters are large and small to test distance vision
What is tinnitus?
Ringing in ears
What is eye accommodation?
The ciliary muscle changing shape of the lens when the eye focuses on something
What is the ciliary body do?
Structure in the eye that releases transparent liquid (tears/aqueous humor) within the eye. Ciliary muscle are here too.
What are the meibomian glands?
Vertical glands near eyelashes, force of blinking causes oil to be excreted. The oil is the “staying power” or the tears that prevents tear evaporation. Can get MGD (meibomian gland dysfunction) if there is to much or to little oil in tear film
What is the orbicularis oculi muscle?
Muscle directly under surface of skin around eyes. It’s closes the eyelid, also helping to drain tears
What is the macula
Area of central vision

Coloured, circular muscular diaphragm
