Q

When is FPM XLAs in the upper arch ideal?

A

Unerupted SPM will generally achieve a good occlusal position - expected to drift mesially
If crowding or class II incisors, considering temporising FPM until SPM erupts allowing placement of a palatal arch on the SPM to prevent their mesial movement
