1
Q

What are the circuit diagram rules?

A

Wires are always drawn with straight lines
Wires don’t cross
We must use the correct symbols

Q

When current is in series what happens?

A

The current at any point will be the same (constant)
When you add another cell there is more current flowing so bulbs will be brighter

9
Q

When the current is in parallel what happens?

A

If the bulbs have the same resistance then the current will equally split
However, wires have low but still some resistance so there will be a tiny bit more current flowing through the easier route

Q

What are the circuit rules?

A

Current in series is the same everywhere in the circuit
Current in parallel splits between the branches of a circuit
Voltage in series is split between the components
Voltage in parallel is the same in each branch of the circuit

Q

What is dispersion?

A

When the light refracts different colours slow down by different amounts which causes them to bend by different amounts - spreads out

Q

What temperature can evaporation occur at?

A

Any

17
Q

What is evaporation?

A

A liquid turning into a gas form

18
Q

How do we stop evaporation?

A

Putting a little on the substance

19
Q

What is Radiation?

A

A method of heat transfer in a vacuum

20
Q

What is a convection current?

A

It is when the particles near to the flame heat, then rise to the top (hot air rises) and then it cools down the it it repeats

21
Q

How can we stop convection?

A

Stop the warm air from escaping
