Bitong: At the highest point of the naso-labial groove.
Bitong or shangyingxiang
At the highest point of the naso-labial groove.
ERJIAN
When the ear is folded forwards, this point lies
at the apex of the ear.
TAIYANG
At the temple, in the tender depression approximately 1 cun posterior to the midpoint between the lateral extremity of the eyebrow and the outer canthus of the eye.
QIUHOU
Along the inferior border of the orbit, at the junction of the lateral one quarter and medial three quarters of the infra-orbital margin.
YUYAO
In the centre of the eyebrow, in the depression directly above the pupil when the eyes are looking straight forwards.
YINTANG
At the glabella, at the midpoint between the medial extremities of the eyebrows.
SISHENCONG
Four points at the vertex of the scalp, grouped around Baihui DU-20 and located 1 cun anterior, posterior and lateral to it.
BAILAO or JINGBAILAO
At the back of the neck, 2 cun superior to Dazhui DU-14, 1 cun lateral to the midline.
ANMIAN (not on the list)
Behind the ear, midway between GB20 and TW17.
SHANGMING
below yuyao
Directly superior to the pupil, below the margin of the orbit.
ERJIAN
On the apex of the ear, on the helix.
DANGYANG
With the patient looking straight ahead, vertically above the pupil, 1 cun above the anterior hairline.
Note: GB14 is 1c above centre of eyebrow
NEIYINGXIANG
In the nasal cavity, at the junction of the nasal bone and the nasal cartilage.
This point lies ‘opposite’ the external point Ex-HN-8 (shangyingxiang or bitong), which is located at the upper end of the nasolabial groove.
JUQUAN
Gathering Spring
With maximal extension of the tongue, in the centre of the tongue body.
HAIQUAN
Sea Spring
Below the tongue, in the centre of the frenulum, between the points Ex-HN-12 (jinjin) and Ex-HN-13 (yuye).
JINJIN
On the underside of the tongue, on the lingual vein to the left of the frenulum.
