Eysencks criminal personality theory
A
- Hans eysenck (1947) argues criminality arises from our personality traits
- designed a personality questionnaire -
Measures levels of extroversion and neuroticism and provides a score for each type
Research - researched into the personalities of 700 servicemen
- each serviceman completed a questionnaire by themselves, Eysencks processed the results to see what is considered the normal range
- created a scale of neuroticism/stability and extroversion/introversion
Limitations - relies on self report so its not reliable
