what is sebum
sebum is a mizture of oily substances and fragmented cells; it helps to keep the skin moisturized and kill bacteria

widely distributed in the skin and include eccrine and apocrine glands
eccrine glands
produce sweat; sweat helps with thermoregulation; made up of water and vitamin C
apocrine glands
found in armpits and genital areas, secrete fatty acids, proteins, and sweat
nails
mostly non living keratinized cells
hair is produced by what

what happens when hair cells are pushed further up and the hair shaft is made of what
they become keratinized and die; protein
