CONJUNCTIVAL - vessels are most superficial and they move with eyelids EPISCLERAL - underneath the cong, and NO movment with the blinks CILIARY = injection at the limbus
What are the patterns of injection?
Diffuse - redness all over Sectoral = redness in one area Ciliary aka LIMBAL FORNIX = pull dow nthe lid to get an idea of the injection
what test should you start with for RED EYES?
Lymphadenopathy
Most common Lympha-denopathy is ?
preauricular
Which is easiest to palpate?
Tonsillar nodes
Which one will have tenderness for HERPES SIMPLEX ZOSTER?
Submandibular
INFECTED lymph nodes tend to be?
FIRM TENDER WARM ENLARGED – nontender is NOT GOOD
What is recommended sequence for lymph node?
Preauricular Tonsilar Submandibular *** check all 3 for red eyes**
What should you check in eyelids ?
ptosis
What is the abnormal finding for Palpebral fissure?
if the other one is differens from 0.5mm, then ptosis is present *** NORMAL UPPER LID MARGIN REST ABT 2MM below the upper limbus *** NOrmal lower lid margin rest about 1 mm above lower limbus
what is PUILLARY ESCAPE?
pupil will constrict, then re dilates and then stayes dilated
