What is lateral sinus or sinus lateralis of Grunwald ?

A
  • recess above bulla k/n as suprabullar recess
  • recess behind bulla k/ n as retrobullar recess
  • when both recess are in continuation then known as sinus lateralis of Grunwald
  • The 2 dimensional opening into this lateral recess is called hiatus semilunaris superior
