Similar to “Best regards”, but more informal. Just a way of saying farewell (you wont see the person in a while) while wishing well (overall; not for anything in specific) to the other one
Stick up for sb/sth
To support or defend someone or something, especially when that person or thing is being criticized (e.g. I can stick up for myself)
To enable someone
To allow someone to do something (e.g. Aeronautics enables us to overcome great distances)
Serve someone right
Be someone’s deserved punishment or misfortune (e.g. Ha! Serves you right!)
Geared towards
Intended for (e.g. Cartoons geared towards little children are great!)
Lump sb/sth together
To put different groups together and think about them or deal with them in the same way (e.g. All the children are lumped together in one class, regardless of their ability)
Throw someone off
To divert or confuse someone or an animal away from something, such as the scent, track, or trail (e.g., She put a little detail in her story to throw the cops off of her trail)
Fall/Slip through the cracks
To get lost or be forgotten, especially within a system (e.g. It seems that important information given to the police may have fallen through the cracks)
To clam up
To refuse to talk or answer
Pet peeve
Something that a particular person finds especially annoying.
To cut someone off
To interrupt someone while they are speaking.
To pique one’s interest/curiosity
