ABBA gives the poem structure (repeating) showing the monotony

- begins with a blunt and powerful sentence for example “our brains ache in the merciless iced east wins that knife us”
- Followed by a motive vocabulary choices
- end with anti-climax but nothing happens 
- repetition of the structure for eight stanzas reflects the repetition of waiting day after day stanza after stanza
