  • begins with a blunt and powerful sentence for example “our brains ache in the merciless iced east wins that knife us”
  • Followed by a motive vocabulary choices
  • end with anti-climax but nothing happens 
  • repetition of the structure for eight stanzas reflects the repetition of waiting day after day stanza after stanza
