Background history of a main Character
Setting
the time and place of where a story takes place
conflict
the problem that takes place in a story
internal conflict
the decision a main character has to make
External conflict
a physical problem outside the characters mind
Rising Action
a related series of incidents in a literary plot that builds toward the point of greatest interest.
Turning Point
a time at which a decisive change in a situation occurs, especially one with beneficial results
Falling Action
Falling action is everything that takes place immediately after the climax
Protagonist
the leading character or one of the major characters in a drama, movie, novel, or other fictional text.
Antagonist
a person who actively opposes or is hostile to someone or something
Climax
the most intense, exciting, or important point of something
Tone
the general character or attitude of a place, piece of writing, or situation
Theme
the subject of a talk, a piece of writing, a person’s thoughts, or an exhibition
Mood
inducing or suggestive of a particular feeling or state of mind
Author’s Purpose
An author’s purpose is his reason for or intent in writing
