when is expo chicago?
fri - sat 11am-7pm; sun 11am-6pm; an invitation only preview will be held on sept 22 for VIPs from 12pm-6pm followed by vernissage from 6pm-9pm
how do i get a ticket to the expo?
~purchased online at expochicago.com or on-site
~gen tickets = $20 one day; $30 for 3 days
kids tickets?
kids under 12 are offered free admission
student tickets?
~$5 off one day gen admission w/ student ID
~SAIC students: comp gen admission ticket can be picked up at sullivan galleries
~colum students: though comp tickets were offered in the past, there will be no comp tickets this year :(
~sotheby’s preferred: members can show “black card” for VIP pass
what is EXPO chicago?
EXPO is a major intl art fair that happens once a year, similar to other renowned fairs such as Art Basel Miami Beach. the expo, now in it’s 5th edition, presents 145 leading intl galleries at the iconic fest hall at navy pier. representing 145 galleries from 22 countries + 53 cities, EXPO offers a unique access to the intl art scene at one place.
what is exposure?
EXPOSURE is a special section of the fair reserved for newer galleries. each of the 26 galleries will highlight one or two artists from their program. in 2016, all participating galleries must have been in operation for 8yrs or less.
how are galleries selected for the fair?
a selection committee, made up of active + experienced art dealers + EXPO exhibitors chooses galleries for participation.
what is in/situ?
the IN/SITU program provides exhibiting galleries to showcase large scale installations + site-specific works by leading artists during EXPO.

~thurs 4-5:30pm nawi will be leading a special tour of the pieces in this year’s in/situ program, meeting at the dialogues stage in the EXPO main floor
in/situ outside?
temporary public art installations along lakefront + throughout chicago, presented in partnership with the Chicago Park District + Dept of Cultural Affairs + Special Events (DCASE)
what is /dialogues?
presented in partnership w/ SAIC, dialogues offers a panel of discussions, conversations, + provocative artistic discourse w/ leading artists, curators, designers, + arts professionals on current issues that engage them.

what is expo video?
expo video highlights a selection of dynamic + cutting edge film, video, + new media works by artists selected from 2016 exhibitors. the works on view are presented in a variety of screening formats including two large format screening rooms, as well as several viewing stations designed by Studio Gang Architects.

The Yellow Wallpaper + Daedalus will be curated by Daria de Beauvais, curator at the Palais de Tokyo, + will highlight some of the most exciting film, video, and new media works being made today.

expo projects is presented alongside in/situ in + around navy pier, featuring a curated selection of projects organized by expo chicago. the site-specific installation program highlights large scale + performative works by emerging + established artists represented by 2016 exhibitors.
